A University of Vladivostok took place in the creation of International seamen training center


  A solemn ceremony of signing of Memorandum of creation of the “International seamen training center on shipboard” has taken place in the last days of July, 2010. Among founders of the document there are Maritime State University named after admiral G.I. Nevelskoi (Vladivostok, Russia), State Maritime Academy named after admiral S.O. Makarov (St.-Petersburg, Russia), Dalian Maritime University (Dalian, China), Korea Maritime University (Pusan, South Korea), John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Philippines) and
the School of Maritime of Istanbul Technical University (the Republic of Turkey). Mr.Efthimios Mitropoulos, the Secretary General of International Maritime Organization, has also substituted his signature under the Memorandum.
  The International seamen training center on shipboard will be created for the purpose of improvement of vocational training for the future maritime specialists, cooperation strengthening between maritime educational institutions of the whole world and attraction of youth to seafaring.

Hu Jintao

  A delegation of about 500 people most of all are children from 26 regions of Russian Federation – participants of the international program “Children of the world — 2010” of the All-Russian Children Center “Ocean” in Primorye, and the rest are accompanying adults: doctors, instructors in physical culture and swimming, professional leaders and translators, were invited to visit China with an excursion round from 31 July to 9 August by the invitation of Hu Jintao, President of the People's Republic of China. This invitation is a reciprocal step of the frontier neighbor on the initiative of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to organize in Russia a recreation for children from the Chinese provinces which have suffered during the earthquake in 2008.
  The Russian children will visit Beijing, Dalian, and Tsingtao. Their excursion program is expected to be very informative and interesting. In plans there are visits to the Great Wall, the Imperial Palace, the Temple of Heaven (Tian Tan) in Beijin, the Olympic objects of China, quarters of national crafts, centers of martial arts, Embassy of Russia in China, high schools, and Daljan University of Foreign Languages. The stay program assumes also joint concerts of the Chinese and Russian schoolboys, solemn receptions, visiting of museums, and realization of humanitarian international projects. 500 more Russian schoolboys are expected to visit China in 2011 again.
