THE SUMMARY
This book invites you to a wonderful coast of sapphire of the Issyk-Kul Lake, where the most unique monuments are under deep waters, which have been keeping secrets.
It is well-known, that Great Silk Road that passed through the territory of Kyrgyzstan. For hundreds of years a great number of caravans had been carrying a great deal of diversified goods including jewelry from the East to the West and from the West to the East.
It is not only from legends we learn about the richest treasures latent in the mountains and at the bottom of the Issyk-Kul Lake, but there are many written sources mentioning about buried secrets, whose authentic belonging does not cause any doubt.
The results of long of archeological researches of the scientists which have been carried out on the coast and under the water of high-mountainous of the Kyrgyz Issyk-Kul Lake, allow us to make the following conclusions:
1. The territory is rich in monuments of the cultural heritage which are three thousand years old and we do know only quite a bit about itfs history. Here and on mountains one can find figures (petroglivs), and imperial kurgans of the people - sacks (skivs), and turkey stones with runic letters, sogdian, uygurs, Tibetan and Arabian epigraphic. Here one can find both medieval towns and settlements with Christian monasteries and Buddhism temples, Islam minarets and mausoleums, and the Kyrgyz gumbezs, sacred natural places. Archeological maps, and cadastre of monuments being made yet but the need close observation, conservation and restoration.
2. The unique feature of Lake Issyk-Kul is that as a result of cataclysms, decreasing and increase of the level of water a number of monuments have been flooded. Now we can find more than ten towns at the bottom of the Lake and unknown (uncountable) number of kurgans under the water. The study of them is a mater of future research.
3. The historical sources, legends and national legends testify about rich findings (treasures) buried in the mountains or flooded in waters of the Issyk-Kul. The most attractive of them are stores about the treasure of Chingizhan and Sacred Matfey, which are stored in a crawfish at the flooded Christian monastery.
With ancient city of the Issyk-Kul and monastery of the Christians, are connected not only legends, but also documentary certificates. It is mentioned in the history of the campaigns of the Timur on the Issyk-Kul. But the main certificate - Catatonic card. That the Earth of generation of the patriarch Turk " Metropolitan of Bishkek and Central Asian Vladimir writes in the book ": " On the Kirghiz ground an imperishable body of the sacred Apostle and evangelist Matfey has found death. As it is known, death for the Christ he has accepted in Syria. There from, apparently, still in II or III century run from rimlian of persecutions by the Christians of honour power of the Apostle were carried away in territory glorified wide. This relic was stored in a monastery located on a coast of the Issyk-Kul Lake; all Christian world knew about her site. On Catatonic card of the world dated 1375, on northern coast of the Issyk-Kul Lake is represented a building with a cross and a number is present an inscription: gA place named Issyk-Kul. In this place the monastery of the brothers Armenian, where stays a body sacred Matfey, Apostle and Evangelist. Subsequently city, where was ancient Armenian stay, was flooded with waters of lakeh.
At the beginning of XX-th century to Kirghizia from China the map with the plan of the treasures dug on an Issyk-Kul Lake was delivered. On this map emigrants who had come back from China, in 1926 the excavation of Kurmenty cave started seeking for treasure.
The treasure-seekers on depth of 6 meters have found out a stone plate with unknown letters (that one corresponded to the plan) and two ancient "hammers" - copper, the other one-gold. Gold had been handed over to the office "Goldproduct" in Prjevalsk in 1930, that had been registered in documents. The further works had been forbidden.
In 1952 in strict privacy the searches of treasure such serious organization as the Ministry CSS had been engaged. In 1968-75 years the Kirghiz general E. @liev – the witness and the participant of the first searches - officially addressed SOVMIN, Committee State and Academy of sciences Kirghiz SSR with the offer to continue searches of the terasure.
On August 27, 1975 the all-Union party newspaper "Truth" in the article "Returning to the secret" informed that the Ministry of internal affairs was engaged in searches of the secrets of Chingizhan on the Issyk-Kul.
In 1976-77 years Kirghiz geologic department checking legends about the secrets confidentially was carrying out the sounding district in the area Kurmenty and gives the conclusion, that the presence in depth of metals was possible. The further purposeful study of the object by archeological methods; i.e. excavation was recommended.
In 1996-97 years the works of geologists begun, but were stopped because of shortage of means. In 1999 the sanction to realization of large-scale works with attraction of the foreign investors has been received. The special commission has been created.
The historian-archeologist investigation which has been carried out on the Issyk-Kul Lake in the summer of 2003, allowed to plan coordinates of search of tempting monuments on the coast and under the water. The Kurmenty grot, coast and depth of a gulf at Light Cape and in the Tup gulf, were observed. The unique things (perfect safety sacks and the boiler been two thousand years old) were lifted from the bottom to surface. It proves that rumors, legends are worth paying attention. They need scientific exploration. We need researches and exploration equipped with modern machines on the coast and under the water.
To find treasure is a muter of chance and what it a chance favors you? The infinite treasures are waiting for their pioneer explorer. The Issyl-Kul Lake is inviting to exploration!
